I was born and raised in Randfontein, attended Randfontein Primary until 1985 and then on to Randfontein High, finishing in 1990. As a child the girls and I had a bicycle gang, we'd race around the neighbourhood and act out Bananarama songs in the street. Friends made were friends for life! I am happily married now to Mike Voudouris and have two sons aged 10 and 8. I have made the odd trip back and am always filled with nostagia. I don't think any place on earth had the same sense of community. Loved it!

I met Marina Biallo and have been married for 36 years and am blessed with 2 sons and a daughter and granddaughter. I was part of the pop music culture for a few years and am stll a musician. I did my army time in Walvis Bay in SWA. I studied medicine and was a GP in Randfontein for 6 years. I specialized and have been in practice as a Gastroenterologist in Florida, Roodepoort since 1992. I have very fond memories of Randfontein with it's diverse cultures and people.

We lived in Randfontein from 1966-1989 when we moved to the Eastern Cape to raise our two daughters there. We enjoyed or stay in Randfontein but I do not think that I will ever be able to stay there again. It is just not the same as in 1989.

Hi " Randfonteiners "! My name is Jimmy Pappas . I was born in Randfontein and still live in this amazing town . My late father Harry Pappas had the Palace Cafe or Grill House as it was known in the main street of Randfontein town and in 1974 he opened Uncle Harrys Roadhouse . I worked with my late father till he passed away and still run Uncle Harrys with my wife Jean Pappas ( previously -- Lewis ) . What a pleasure to read
and see that so many of us have so many fond memories of this special town . I would just like to add , -- that when I see the names of some friends and families that I recognize ,--- that we really had a nice bunch of folks living in this town . Wish you all well and if you ever in the area pop in to say Hi ! Special thanks to Jim Renwick for this medium to go down memory lane .
