My late father Harry Pappas had the Palace Cafe or Grill House as it was known in the main street of Randfontein town and in 1974 he opened Uncle Harrys Roadhouse . I worked with my late father till he passed away and still run Uncle Harrys with my wife Jean Pappas ( previously -- Lewis ) . What a pleasure to read and see that so many of us have so many fond memories of this special town . I would just like to add , -- that when I see the names of some friends and families that I recognize ,--- that we really had a nice bunch of folks living in this town .
